I’m pretty certain Dominic was born in Misilmeri, not sure where Grazia was born. I found a reference that they were married in Misilmeri on Feb 1, 1902 but can’t verify that with a certificate. Grazia has an Ellis Island registry of arriving in May 1907. I think Dominic was already in Waukegan, IL but can’t find his Ellis Island info. The lived in Waukegan the rest of their lives and (it appears) the US census has their last name changing from Sacremuto in 1920 to Sacramento (my mom’s maiden name) in 1930. I can’t find any records of their parents or lives in Misilmeri and would love to learn more about their heritage. |

SANCLIMENTI | Jeff DeGrand | Trying to find more info on my GGF Dominic Sanclimenti (b. 1875) and my GGM Grazia Rizzo (b. 1880). I’m pretty certain Dominic was born in Misilmeri, not sure where Grazia was born. I found a reference that they were married in Misilmeri on Feb 1, 1902 but can’t verify that with a certificate. Grazia has an Ellis Island registry of arriving in May 1907. I think Dominic was already in Waukegan, IL but can’t find his Ellis Island info. The lived in Waukegan the rest of their lives and (it appears) the US census has their last name changing from Sacremuto in 1920 to Sacramento (my mom’s maiden name) in 1930. I can’t find any records of their parents or lives in Misilmeri and would love to learn more about their heritage. |
