      1840, the 29th of August at the hour of 22 before Luigi Campanella, mayor and official of the vital records of Ventimiglia Distrect of Termini, Province of Palermo appeared Caterina Manzella, 50, midwife, resident of Ventimiglia on Via di Santo Nicolo, who presents a baby boy who she declares was born to Giovanna di Gristina, 27, resident of Ventimiglia on Via del collegio di Maria, and Maestro Giuseppe Saso, 31, blacksmith, resident of Ventimiglia, today during August in 1840 at the hour of 16, in the home they share. They named him Gaspare. He was baptized on the 29th of August in the Mother Church or Ventimiglia. Witnesses to testimony are Rosario Saso, 28, and Maestro Vincenzo Cirrincione, 54, shoemaker.
