Rizzo 88, a longtime resident of Highland passed away on October 7, 2011. She was a member of St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughter of America, and the Mid-Hudson Senior Citizens all in Highland. Mrs. Rizzo was born in Kingston, NY on March 27, 1923. She was the daugher of Louis, and Susan Gallo Morello. On September 7, 1952 at St. Coleman's Church in East Kingston she married Joseph "Peppy" Rizzo. Mr. Rizzo predeceased her on June 23, 2002. Survivors include her son Eugene J. Rizzo and his wife Rena of Highland, her grandchildren Kevin J. Rizzo and his fiance Tiffany Brown of Highland, and Steven M. Rizzo of Highland. Additional survivors include her brother Frank Morello of Kingston, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Eugene Morello, and her sisters Theresa Narone, Marion Rother, and Rose Marie Morello. Calling hours are Monday October 10, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 11, 2011 9:30 am at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Highland. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
