      1844, the 21st of November at the hour of 16 before Giuseppe Valenti, Mayor and official of the vital records office of S. Stefano, Bivona, Girgenti, appeared Giovanni Castellano, 33, farmer of this town in the Santa Maria la Scala district, who presents a baby girl who he declares was born to Giovanna Ciccarello, his wife, age 28, and himself on the 20th of this month at the hour of 23 in their home. They named her Maria. She was baptized on the 21st of this month in the church of S. Nicolo di Bari. Witnesses are Benedetto Cannella, 34, farmer and Gaetano Guastella, 63, blacksmith.

      1844, the 9th of February at the hour of 17 before Giuseppe Valenti, Mayor and official of the vital records office of Santo Stefano, District of Bivona, Province of Girgenti, appeared in the town hall Giovanni Castellano Nataluzzo, single, 33, of age, born in this town, District of Bivona, Province of Girgenti, farmer, of the Santa Maria la Scala district, son of the late Niccola and the living Lorenza D'Amico, age 66; and also appeared Giovanna Ciccarello, single, 26, of age, born in this town, resident of this town, daughter of the late Francesco and the living Margherita Labruzzo, age 57. They were married on Feb 10, 1844 in the church of Santo Nicolo di Bari in the presence of witnesses Angelo Gullo and Maestro GiovanBattista Rumore. Banns were posted on January 21 in Santo Stefano. Documents provided are the birth record of the groom, the birth of the bride, the death of the father of the groom, who died in this town on January 10, 1832, the death of the grandfather of the groom, who died in this town on June 25, 1827, the death of the father of the bride, who died in this town on July 15, 1818, and the death of the grandfather of the bride who died in this town on April 16, 1802. Witnesses are Salvatore Abbano, 54, civil, Niccola Barone, 50, civil, Giuseppe Vacanti, 54, middle class and Vincenzo Capitano, 52, (occupation?).
